Divisions Designed for Every Team

At Sand Storm, our goal is simple: create divisions that ensure every team enjoys a competitive, balanced, and rewarding weekend.

Teams are placed using a combination of grade level and overall skill, with coaches and program directors self-ranking their teams to help create balanced, competitive matchups. As the event approaches, directors and administrators will have the opportunity to review and confirm placement or request a division adjustment if needed.

Boys & Girls Divisions — By Grad Year
Ideal for teams made up of one or two graduation years, typically club-based programs.
AA — Elite competition featuring top state and national-level teams
A — Strong, experienced teams competing at a high regional or varsity level
B — Developing teams, including recreational programs and local clubs

Boys High School Open Divisions
Designed for teams with mixed-grade rosters (3–4 grad years), often school-based or recreational programs.
Open A — Developing teams with some experience and competitive play
Open B — Newer teams at an introductory level

Girls High School Open Divisions
Built for mixed-grade teams not suited for grad year divisions, with placement based on overall competitiveness.
HS Open A — Highest level; experienced and competitive
HS Open B — Competitive and experienced
HS Open C — Mid-level competition
HS Open D — Developing teams with growing experience
HS Open E — Introductory level; minimal experience (no seniors allowed)

We carefully review all teams to create the most balanced divisions possible, so every team has the opportunity to compete, grow, and fully enjoy the Sand Storm Lacrosse experience.
